Rhino Iguana

Okay so maybe I should start calling this blog the 'Weekly Animal' haha!
I've been super busy recently with social and work stuff, oh dear.
Anyway, here is a Rhino Iguana. I never realised there were so many different kinds of Iguana, there's quite a big variety :) I did draw one last week, but he didnt feel iguanaish to me (I always recall my next door neighbors iguana lazing around on his tree log thing, thus I've done that here).
The iguana was requested by Kate Holden, a comic artist ^^ Her work has always been right up my street, straight forward and charismatic! You can check it out here:

Only a few more requests to gom then I can go back to drawing my own choice in animals ;)

White Tiger

Today I've drawn a White Tiger. White tigers aren't a whole separate species of Tiger, you simply get white versions of the 6 current types of Tiger!
This was requested by my good and old friend Amanda, you can see her artwork on deviantart here:

I realised today that Tigers are one of my favourite animals XD It was really fun to draw, I wanted to emphasise their big paws and chunky bodies! In all the photos I saw they seemed pretty grumpy or sleepy too, so I wanted to keep that expression :P

This picture was drawn in charcoal too. I had to draw the picture about 5 times over before I got it right, but I love using charcoal <3

Raccoon

Today I drew a Raccoon, as requested by Aut Mercurial, a web comic artist =3
You can read her web comic on SJ here:

I didnt realise until I looked at the raccoon image in the animal encyclopaedia I'm borrowing (to be fair only one image) how colourful raccoons are. I decided to try show off all those different colours.

Here are some of my favourite cartoon Raccoons:

Cat

Today I've drawn just a normal cat. Cats are very soft dignified creatures, so this one gave me a chance to try out more of my Letraset marker colouring ^^
This is in particular a Siamese Cat, I really like their markings :)

The cat was requested by Vicki Paul, a 3D modeller and illustrator. You can check out her website here:
I've always loved her cartoony abstract artwork ^_^

Today I also updated my webcomic, Strangers and Friends. Do check it out if you don't know it:

It's set in my home town, Wootton Bassett, and the main character is a geeky Indian vampire hunter, if thats enough to sell it to you :P

European Mole

A European Mole. I'm calling it a 'European Mole' because there are quite a lot of different and interesting kinds of mole out there, so this wont be the only one I draw ^^  Moles are a great example of the wonders of evolution! Also, I found out today their sleep pattern consists of sleeping for 8-20 minutes, then digging for an hour or so before sleeping again!
Irina Richards requested this =3 Shes a fellow member of Sweatdrop Studios, a comic group I'm a part of,
and you can see her artwork on her website:
She does a great drama web comic, Chemical Blue, which I really like :)
I promise this isnt just a blog advertising other artists!! XD
